1. Using the service
Birthday Reminder is a free web app that stores birthdays you add and emails you reminders at a lead time you choose. You can use it without creating an account; sign-in is passwordless and happens via one-tap email links.
2. The emails we send
By using Birthday Reminder you agree to receive the emails you've asked for — specifically:
- Confirmation and digest emails when you add or request your list
- Passwordless sign-in links when you request them
- Birthday reminder emails ahead of each birthday you've saved
3. Sponsored content in emails
Birthday Reminder is free to use. To keep it that way, the emails we send you — including reminder, digest, and sign-in-link emails — may include sponsored content. By using the service you agree that:
- Any email we send on your behalf may contain one or more clearly delineated sponsored sections, advertisements, promoted products, or affiliate links.
- Sponsored content may be dynamically selected by us or a third-party ad partner at send time, based on non-personal signals (e.g. language, approximate region, device).
- We will not include sponsored content that targets you using the names, dates, or email addresses on your birthday list; those are used only to deliver the reminders you asked for.
- We may change the format, placement, or density of sponsored content at any time without notice; continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of such changes.
- If you don't want sponsored content, your remedy is to stop using the service — there is currently no paid, ad-free tier.
For clarity: we never show in-app advertising on the Birthday Reminder website itself; the sponsored content described in this section applies only to the emails sent to the inbox you provided.
4. Your data
We store only the information you give us — the birthdays you add (name, date, lead time), and the email address you want reminders sent to. We don't sell, rent, or share your list with third parties, and we don't use the names on your list to target advertising.
You can remove any birthday from your list at any time, which deletes the record from our database.
5. Email provider
Reminder emails are sent either through our own mail server or through a configured email service provider (currently RelationCity). When using a third-party provider, your email address and the content of the reminder (including any sponsored content) will be processed by that provider for the sole purpose of delivery.
6. No warranty
Birthday Reminder is provided "as is". We make reasonable efforts to deliver reminders on time, but we don't guarantee delivery — email systems, cron jobs, and third-party services can and do fail. Don't rely on this service for anything whose consequences you can't shrug off.
7. Changes
We may update these terms at any time. The current version is always on this page, with a "Last updated" date at the top.
